TIGERS arrived at Durrell this week. Not real ones, but children dressed in their favourite tiger costumes.

They had their faces painted and enjoyed sandwiches and cupcakes at the Dodo Café.

The idea for the tiger theme for the tea party on Wednesday came from the live stage production of The Tiger Who Came To Tea, which finishes at the Opera House tomorrow.

There was a prize for the best tiger costume and each tiger received a goody bag of tiger treats.

Wednesday was also the first late-night opening for Durrell, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary all year.
