WE have just returned from a holiday on your lovely Island. Our abiding memory will be of the glorious flowers everywhere and of the neatness and cleanliness of the whole Island – except for the bus stop at Grouville, near the golf course. It is filthy, smells of urine and with timetables badly damaged and illegible.
I have been visiting Jersey on holiday since 1950 and have never seen anything like it. In fact each village has been proud of its appearance and the parishes seem to vie with each other in appearance.
This stand is a desecration and an insult to the war memorial opposite. If it cannot be improved. I would suggest it be disposed of altogether.
