Having beaten Ireland on Sunday, Jersey yesterday defended their 45-over total of 188 for nine by bowling the opposition out to win by 14 runs. Ryan Evans had an excellent match for Jersey by taking five wickets.
And back-to-back successes have delighted coach Peter Gough although he would not get carried away by his fledglings’ early success.
Gough said: ‘We’ve had two good wins but we will not get carried away. We will keep our heads down and remain focused and get on with the job in hand.’
Jersey’s third game today is against Guernsey, who bounced back from their opening defeat on Sunday to beat Denmark yesterday by 60 runs.
Gough added: ‘We beat Guernsey by 20 runs earlier in the season but that result counts for nothing today. It was a very close game last time we played them and it will probably be equally as close today.’
