From Peter Marriott.
WHAT is the best use for the derelict holiday camp site at Plémont?
Clear the site after compulsory purchase, then formulate a ten-year plan to erect 1,000 wind turbines for electrical generation, which would be of two-fold benefit, putting the site to best possible use for Jersey, with all the land connections already in place. Thus cost would be least wasteful, and it would be much cheaper to maintain.
As the JEC is 60% owned by the States, funding for and the return from the development would be an asset and we would be self-sufficient, thus helping to keep employment in the industry secure for the future. There would be no need to import, only export electricity from this green and pleasant land.
