The parents of 20-year-old Timothy Faudemer, who suffered a serious head injury after falling from the cliffs, have thanked everyone who helped rescue and save their eldest son.

The student, of St Martin, is still in a coma and critically ill in Southampton hospital but is making progress after the accident two weeks ago.

Today his father Barry, a former States of Jersey police officer and current director of enforcements at the Jersey Financial Services Commission, has spoken publicly about his son’s accident.

Speaking from his son’s hospital bedside in Southampton, Mr Faudemer said: ‘He is stable but is making progress. I would like him to go back and thank everyone himself when he is back on his feet. I think it will be a long road to recovery. We are going to battle away and get him on his feet again.’
