Brig-y-Don: ‘End delays in funding’

Susie Pinel, the trust chairman of Brig-y-Don, warned that the care of vulnerable children would be affected if the States did not come up with the promised investment in the home.

The home is due to close at the end of this month for refurbishment after the States voted around £650,000 in May for this work. However, the home has not yet received any of the money.

Mrs Pinel said that it had been hoped that the work on the building could have started next month, but she has now been informed that it will be unlikely to be completed until July next year.
