At the KGV Field in Guernsey, Savident – Guernsey’s first professional cricketer – scored an unbeaten 102 helping his team to a 50-over total of 224.

Jersey replied with an opening stand of 117 from Dean Morrison and Peter Gough but the middle order failed to continue the momentum and Jersey finished on 203 for nine.

Jersey coach Craig Hogan said: ‘We missed Lee three times; two catches and a run out and that was disappointing. Had we got him we would probably have gone on to win but full credit to him – he batted well.’

Dean Morrison top scored for Jersey with 78
