The States Employment Board this week commissioned an independent investigation after a number of employees claimed they had been harassed by the outspoken politician.
But Senator Syvret has denied the allegations, claiming that he has simply been trying to hold civil servants to account.
He said: ‘I think they – the Council of Ministers – are desperately clutching at straws. The people of this Island elect politicians to ensure that the public sector is run accountably, and this means holding civil servants to account. One is sometimes left with no choice but to get a bit rough with these people.’
The investigation will be carried out by UK Employment Tribunal chairman Christopher Chapman.
