Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean, Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf, Corporate Services Scutiny Panel chairman Sarah Ferguson and Economic Affairs Scrutiny Panel chairman Mike Higgins will be facing questions from Chamber of Commerce members on Wednesday 7 October.

The event will be along similar lines to the Chamber’s annual question time, but this year will focus particularly on the States economic stimulus package.

Chamber president Ray Shead said: ‘This is what everyone is interested in – how the private sector can benefit from and relate to the package.

‘We very much approve of the training initiatives and apprenticeships, which is good use of public money, but it seems to us that the 26 bids have to go through the public sector. As yet we have seen no details of how the private sector can, for example, access the £10 millon of States refurbishments, which will be of interest to painters and decorators, plumbers and so forth.’
