While cloud and showers meant a miserable bank holiday for many in the UK, Jersey topped the sunshine charts with a scorching 8.1 hours and clocked up a higher temperature than anywhere else in the British Isles.
Many took advantage of the good weather to enjoy a bank holiday at the beach or at various events around the Island.
Some spent the day in the People’s Park – enjoying the sounds, smells and mouth-watering tastes of Portuguese Food Festival.
Others enjoyed demonstrations of apple crushing and threshing at Samarès Manor’s autumn fair.
Jersey Met Office duty forecaster Malcolm Fosse said that the outlook for next weekend was also promising.
