The Dandara Jersey Football Combination squad, who are being managed by Combination vice-president Jon Welsh – a former Island under-18 manager – will bid for a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Welsh said: ‘The squad is shaping up well; we played two systems in a friendly against St Ouen on Tuesday and everyone adapted well.

‘They all came through unscathed too so that’s good as I have a full squad to select from. The spirit among the players is excellent; many of them had great success in winning the Aland Island Games tournament and they continue to be hungry for success.’

The full squad is: Jimmy Styles and Dave Le Roux (Trinity); Craig Fletcher and James Scott (Jersey Scottish); Stuart André, Scott Devlin, Dave Watson, Luke Watson, Ross Crick, Craig Russell, Jean-Paul Martyn and Craig Leitch (all St Paul’s), Shaun Heslop (Grouville); Sam Twoerk (St Peter) and Chris Andrews and Luke Campbell (Jersey Wanderers). Welsh will be assisted by Kevin MacCarthy and Steve Martin.
