Curtis Warren (46), of Liverpool, is alleged to be the ringleader of a six-man gang on trial in the Royal Court charged with plotting to smuggle the commercial quantity of cannabis into the Island in 2007.

Since his arrest in Jersey two years ago, the media have been prevented from reporting any details about his previous convictions.

However, it was yesterday revealed in court that Mr Warren was one of Britain’s highest profile criminals – and the only drug trafficker to feature on the Sunday Times Rich List.
