Each school’s exam results may be revealed

Senator Ben Shenton says that the department should reveal the exam grades by school so that taxpayers know what kind of results the £98m Education Department is achieving.

And although Education Minister James Reed is sticking to the department’s line that they only reveal the combined results of fee-paying and States schools, Senator Shenton says that the standing orders of the States could force him to publish the details.

The Senator says that publishing the combined results is misleading, because the high results from the fee-paying schools blur the picture of achievement in the States schools.
