At Springfield, the Saints beat Jersey Scottish 1-0 with Polish midfielder Przemek Tworek netting the only goal five minutes from the end.
Saints manager Martin King said: ‘Many people believed we were going to struggle this season but I’ve every confidence in my squad and last night I thought we deserved to win.
‘We worked extremely hard throughout and the defence played well and it did not look like we were going to concede a goal.’
