Unlike last year, when runners battled against torrential rain and high winds, there was not a cloud in sight for the event which started and finished at the Weighrbdige Square.
The 254 relay teams followed the same course as the marathon runners, around town and up Waterworks Valley to St Ouen, before returning to St Helier via Les Quennevais and Corbière.
The first men’s relay team were Jersey Spartans with a time of 2.31.49 and the first women’s team, who were third overall, were called Run for Fun (2.51.00).
Race director Helen Baker said that apart from a few runners being taken to hospital suffering from dehydration the marathon had been a great success.
