Members of all three teaching unions are being invited to the meeting at Hautlieu School at 4.15 pm to discuss the States pay freeze and the withdrawal of negotiation rights over pay and conditions.
Anne Southern, president of the Jersey Teachers Association, said that representatives would explain what the latest developments were in their fight to get a pay rise. She added that the meeting would also be a chance to gauge the teachers’ mood.
‘We have submitted a pay claim and that has been rejected,’ said Mrs Southern. ‘Our next step is to go to arbitration, but we suspect that, as last year, it will be turned down.’
