No explanation was given in open court yesterday morning as to why a male juror had
disappeared from the panel.
It means that the original jury of 12 has been reduced to six men and five women, who will decide the fate of six defendants accused of plotting to flood Jersey with £1 million worth of cannabis resin between 1 May and 23 July 2007.
Curtis Warren, of Liverpool, who has been described as an ‘influential drug trafficker’, is accused of masterminding the alleged plot.
Alongside the 46-year-old in the dock are Jonathan Welsh (43) of Liverpool, James O’Brien (45), of Glasgow, Jason Woodward (22) of Dartford, Kent, and Paul Hunt (27) and Oliver Lucas (23), both of Jersey.
The jury was due to be back in court at 9 am today before retiring to continue its deliberations.
