THIS terrible hum has kept me awake on many occasions, during the past five years. I am a very light sleeper, which probably explains why some people hear it and others don’t.
It can’t be mobile phone masts, as I had one pointing directly at my bedroom window for 18 months, yet the hum had been going on long before that, and I still hear it sometimes, even though the mast has since been removed. Not only that, it doesn’t occur every night.
I think the most likely source is some sort of vibration emitting from the French nuclear processing plant at Cap de la Hague. After all, we are only 15 miles away, so it is a possibility.
