20 senior politicians fly in for British-Irish summit

The delegation to the British-Irish Council meeting at the Radisson Hotel tomorrow includes the UK Secretary of State for Wales Peter Hain, Irish Taoiseach Brian Cowen, Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, Welsh First Minister Rhodri Morgan, and Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson.

Also attending are Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and the Chief Ministers of the Isle of Man and Guernsey, Tony Brown and Lyndon Trott.

Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur and Education Minister James Reed are representing Jersey at the meeting. The theme of the summit meeting is indigenous and minority languages, and Deputy Reed is going to make a speech to the delegation on the subject.
