Nick Taylor, the Island’s squash development officer, beat defending champion, and fellow Jersey player, Mike Hopkins 3-0 to take the men’s squash title and also took the racketball honours with a 3-0 victory over Mark Stenner. His son, Charlie, came away with the under-6s’ title and daughter Olivia the U11s while wife, Laura, won the ladies’ racketball event at Beau Sejour.
There was success again for John Wood as he was crowned over-45s’ CI squash champion, beating Mark Roberts 3-0 in the final, to make it a hat-trick of title wins.
However, Kate Cadigan’s reign as CI ladies’ champ came to an end in the semi-final as she, having won the event for the last four years, lost her title with defeat to Olivia French, in a repeat of last year’s decider.
Other Jersey players in the event included Scott Gautier, who was beaten in the final of the men’s plate competition with Aaron Higgins going out in the semi-final.
