From Mike Pitman.
I ADMIT that I cannot make out whether or not your report (JEP, 25 November) about the withholding of the names of the ‘stars’ who will turn on the Christmas lights is true or not.
If it is employing some form of reverse psychology to encourage interest, then I fear I have fallen for the ploy. If it is, however, true, then my utter despair for the loss of common sense deepens.
I would also recommend that in future, this role is given to the Constable of St Helier. That should prevent any over-excitement on the part of the crowd.
