Adrian Chapman, owner of the Wolf’s Cave site in St John, said that he had taken heed of the National Trust’s Coastline Campaign, which led to 7,000 people lining the beach to support protecting the coastline from development.
Mr Chapman, director of Mourier Developments which bought the site in 2006, said that he intends to withdraw the current Planning application for two houses and put another plan in for just one.
His original application for two houses in July provoked objection from the National Trust who said that they were ‘uncomfortable’ with plans for two houses, when one would be sufficient to replace the former pub. They feared it would set a precedent for more building on the coastline.
