Assistant Health Minister Judy Martin said that £2.8 million would be handed to the Health Department for 2010, with an additional £200,000 in 2011 and £300,000 in 2012.
The cash allocated for next year will pay for an external inspection of children’s services by the Social Work Inspection Agency, the establishment of an independent reviewing officer service and sustainable funding for the Jersey Child Protection Committee.
Money will also be spent on an independent court advisory service and an independent guardian service for youngsters involved in care proceedings.
Deputy Martin was speaking during States question time on Tuesday following a question asked by Deputy Geoff Southern about the funding for the implementation of the report.
