Dee Dodd and her daughter Danielle Colback published Some Favourite Recipes from Friends across the world last month.

The profit from the book and any donations will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Jersey to fund research into the cause and treatment of the debilitating disease.

Danielle, of Trinity, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 12 years ago. She said: ‘When I was expecting my youngest child I woke up one morning and found that I couldn’t move the left side of my body. It went on from them.

‘It usually affects people in their late 20s and early 30s. They still don’t have a cure.’

The idea for the book was a joint effort between mother and daughter, who both love cooking. ‘As a family, we are real foodies,’ said Danielle. ‘We love to meet together with family and friends and just enjoy good food. We have relatives living around the world and we all have favourite recipes. They are all well tested!’

Dee, of St Peter, said that they originally had 1,000 copies of the book published

but now have only a couple of hundred left. She said that the book was ‘very personal’ and has an explanation where each recipe comes from.

Islanders can order the £6 book by emailing deedoddjersey@gmail.com or danielle@colback.com. It is also stocked at Coopers coffee shop and Curves gym club in St Helier.
