New M&S store for Liberty Wharf site

Retailer Sandpiper, which owns the M&S franchise in the Island, is to open the store on the site of the former abattoir next to Liberation Station.

Sandpiper’s chief executive, Tony O’Neill, said that Liberty Wharf would be ‘a diamond in the crown’ of Jersey retailing when it was fully open. There would also definitely be new high street names to go into other units in the yet-to-be-opened shopping centre, he added.

The company has agreed to take at least two more units to locate other brands it will operate as franchises. However, it could open up to three more shops on top of that.
