The Atlantic Waterbabes, who include three Jersey rowers, were supposed to start their 3,000 mile trans-Atlantic challenge at the start of December.
But bad weather and a lack of rescue flares have left Karen Radband, Sarah Medland, Kiley Trehorel-Daly, all from Jersey, and Jo Langmead from the UK, stuck in the Canary Islands as they wait for the Woodvale Challenge Atlantic Rowing Race to begin.
They have been in San Sebastián since November getting ready for the race.
Poor weather conditions have put the start date back a number of times and now they have been told there is a ‘wave swell’ in the wrong direction.
