This week, the company released a quality of service report for the third quarter of this year, which also revealed that only one per cent of passengers were made to wait between 15 and 30 minutes to clear checks.
Staff at the Airport are now able to monitor the flow of passengers following the installation of a network of cameras in the departure terminal ceiling.
The report said: ‘We are pleased that, due to a number of improvements that have been implemented, there has been a significant reduction in average queueing time over the last 18 months (although there were some periods – 0.9 per cent – when queueing time was slightly over 30 minutes).’
Data collected by Ports of Jersey also showed that only 10.1 per cent of bags from arriving flights were delivered to the carousel more than 20 minutes after arrival and 0.9 per cent took more than 45 minutes to reach the baggage reclaim area.
However, at the Harbour, it was noted that the operators of 300 private vessels were still waiting for spaces at the Elizabeth, St Helier and La Collette marinas.
‘Demand for the “all tide” marina at La Collette is very high and berth-holders at this marina tend to retain them, so there is very little “churn”,’ the report said. ‘The estimated waiting time to be allocated a berth in Elizabeth and St Helier Marina averages around 12 months, while at La Collette it is eight to ten years. However, over 90 per cent of the people on the waiting list for La Collette already have a berth at another marina in Jersey.’
