A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the two-vehicle incident on the Grande Route de St Jean, near the junction with Rue des Cotils and Motor Mall. A States police spokesperson said there was ‘substantial damage to both vehicles’.

The man has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The force received a call from a member of the public in a nearby house at about 9.56pm on Sunday. The collision occurred between a silver VW, driven by a 33-year-old man and with a 30-year-old female passenger on board, and grey Audi, driven by the 40-year-old man.

The spokesperson added that those on board the VW were treated at the scene by paramedics and later taken to the Emergency Department.

‘Their injuries are not understood to be life-threatening or life-changing,’ the spokesperson added.

Anyone who saw the incident, or either vehicle prior to the crash, is urged to contact the States police on 621612 or call Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
