The Commodore Goodwill will now no longer sail on Mondays and will not operate a service between the Channel Islands and France. Commodore Clipper will no longer sail from the islands on Mondays. The changes will apply during the next six weeks.
And the company has moved to assure Islanders that it will still operate a daily freight service to the Channel Islands.
Elwyn Dop, Condor Ferries’ executive director of operations, said: ‘We have made minor changes to our frequency of sailings from Portsmouth for the next six weeks to accommodate a reduction in the volumes of non-food-related freight being transported into the islands.
‘These changes come into effect for just six weeks from Monday 20 April through to Sunday 31 May. We remain totally committed to maintaining the freight supply chain and can restart sailings with relative ease.’
The changes only affect Condor’s cargo operations and not its passenger services, which remain suspended until 14 May.
