Jersey’s borders to reopen within days

At a press briefing this morning, Economic Development Minister Lyndon Farnham said flights and sailings would ‘resume modestly’.

He said they would be operated by Blue Islands, easyJet and British Airways, as well as Condor.

Every arriving passenger will have to be tested or self-isolate for a period of time defined by medical experts.

No-one who has arrived in Jersey during the border testing trial in recent weeks has tested positive for coronavirus.

Jersey has a total of six people known to be infected with Covid-19, none of whom have symptoms.

The government has secured accommodation for those who test positive on arrival. Senator Farnham said he expected those numbers to be low.

The Senator warned that restrictions would be put in place again if the number of cases on Covid-19 increased again.
