NSPCC Jersey is hosting a virtual dog show competition between 9am on Monday 17 August and 5pm on Sunday 6 September, with numerous categories for both photos and videos of people and their four-legged friends.

The video categories include Waggiest Tail and Best Dancer classes, in addition to six photo categories: Funniest Dog, Dirtiest Dog, Best Puppy, Best Rescue Dog, Best Veteran (over eight years) and Best Dog and Owner Lookalike.

There will be a winner in each of the eight categories, as well as a Best in Show, with each winner receiving a £25 voucher, with a rosette and a trophy for the Best in Show – courtesy of sponsors Collas Crill.

The chairwoman of the NSPCC Jersey fundraising group, Nicola Santos-Costa, said: ‘NSPCC Jersey hasn’t stopped working for children and I hope people can get behind this fundraising event and enter the virtual dog show.

‘It’s a bit of fun for the dog days of August and it just costs £4 to enter, which is how much it costs for a Childline counsellor to answer the phone to a child in need.’

Islanders wanting to take part should email pictures and videos to nspccjerseydogshow@gmail.com.

Entries should be titled and include a name, age (if under 18 years old) and category. People can only enter one picture per class, with donations being taken via justgiving.com/fundraising/nspcc-jersey26weekchallenge.
