Earlier this week, the government confirmed that a class bubble had been sent home to isolate following a confirmed case of coronavirus.

The second case confirmed at the school is from the same class bubble.

It is the fourth school to be affected by Covid-19 cases in recent weeks after class bubbles at St Saviour Primary School and St Michael’s Prep were sent home after a case was detected. A support worker at Le Rocquier also tested positive but had been off school for a week and therefore no one at the secondary was required to isolate.

A Government spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that another student from the same bubble at St John’s Primary School has tested positive for Covid-19.

‘To protect the identity of this child and respect the family’s privacy we are unable to comment any further.’

There are currently 82 known active cases in Jersey.
