On Monday [22 February] the Magistrate’s Court heard that Stephen Robertson arrived at Gama Aviation on 9 February from a ‘red-zone’ area, which requires ten days of self-isolation and three Covid tests during that period.
Legal adviser Advocate Lauren Taylor said that Robertson had gone back to the Airport the following day to meet his partner, who had also flown in.
However, Advocate Mike Preston, defending, said that the test centre next to the Airport had been closed when his client had landed and that he had returned there the next day to get his first test as well as to meet his partner.
Relief Magistrate Michael O’Connor told Robertson he had to impose a fine, saying: ‘A short breach is still a breach.’
