Jersey has long been a royalist part of the British Isles and has long ties to the crown. In the 1640s, the Island provided sanctuary to Charles II in Elizabeth Castle during a wave of anti-monarchical sentiment in England. The JEP wants to see if the support level for the monarch remains. As part of the Coronation ceremony, the public will be asked to swear their allegiance as King Charles is crowned.
