THE St Helier all-weather lifeboat was called out to help a 42-ft sailing yacht which was taking on water near Corbière.

On arrival at the scene on Friday evening, the crew initially monitored the situation as the vessel had the ingress under control and was willing to continue to St Helier Harbour under escort from the RNLI.

However, after the situation worsened, two lifeboat crew members and a salvage pump were transferred to the yacht before the vessel was brought back safely to the Harbour.
