The Islanders continued their remarkable record against ‘top-flight ready’ clubs with an incredible 38-34 success at Ashton Gate, and as the head coach prepares to wave goodbye to a good number of professionals again this summer he suggests such results could bring further player-benefits.

Jersey, who have beaten Worcester Warriors and London Irish in recent seasons, are due to lose Scott Van Breda to the Premiership this summer, plus a handful of others who have not yet been unveiled by their future clubs.

‘I think so, and I hope so,’ said Biljon, in response to whether Sunday’s victory could open the Premiership door for more of his players.

‘Selfishly we would like to keep continuity and keep the team together, but there’s no way we can stand in the guys’ way.’
