Jason Roy got England off to a rapid start against Australia as Perth’s new Optus Stadium opened its doors to international cricket with the final match of the one-day series.
Roy had a life on 20, nicking Mitchell Starc only for a retrospective no-ball call, but played some mighty strokes as he made 49 in 46 balls.

He eventually mis-timed a booming drive off Andrew Tye, the local boy taking the first wicket at the newly opened 55,000-seat ground.

Jonny Bairstow (27no) and Alex Hales (10no) picked up the baton, with the tourists reaching 92 for one after 15 overs after being asked to bat first.
