Super League returned on Thursday night but Warrington’s Ryan Atkins will be wishing he could start the new season all over again.
The centre certainly knows his way to the line after scoring 171 Super League tries, placing him sixth in the competition’s most prolific try-scorers of all time.
But the 32-year-old had a sleepless night after blowing a certain try in the closing stages of his side’s 16-12 defeat by champions Leeds in their opening game.

Spectacular finishes have become the norm in Super League since the authorities took the corner post out of the equation when it came to finishing a try.
After trying to replicate the competition’s most acrobatic wingers, the powerful Atkins vowed to stick to what he is good at in future.
So my 10 minutes of sleep last night consisted of me dreaming that I could fly. After checking my twitter this morning it turns out it was a real life nightmare ??♂️WHAT WAS I THINKING? ??Moments like this, if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.I will never try that again ✈️
