The EFL fixtures were announced on Thursday morning, giving fans plenty to look forward to when the 2018-19 season starts in August.

Previous years have thrown up some memorable openers and Press Association Sport’s Sam Constance looks at five of them here.

Middlesbrough 9 Brighton 0 (August 23, 1958)

Barnet 4 Crewe 7 (August 17, 1991)

Luton 8 Yeovil 2 (August 5, 2017)

MK Dons 4 Gillingham 2 (August 9, 2014)

Stevenage 3 Oldham 4 (August 6, 2013)
