Serena Williams is out to make more history in the Wimbledon final when she faces Angelique Kerber in a repeat of the 2016 title match.
A 24th grand slam singles triumph would move Williams level with Margaret Court, the player with the most success at the four tennis majors.

Williams has fired down more unreturned first serves than any other player in the women’s draw at these championships, with 50 per cent of the balls she has landed in not coming back to her. Kerber has to find a way to put more balls back into play, and after winning just five of 43 points when Williams landed her first serve in their final two years ago that is an area where the German must significantly improve.

Williams has been backed by A-list supporters Drake, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake this week, and two years ago had Beyonce and Jay-Z cheering her on in the final. This year the Duchess of Sussex is heading to Wimbledon to watch her friend go for glory. And doubtless a large cast of stars will be inside Centre Court for the occasion, as Williams searches for a record-equalling victory.
