The Lieutenant-Governor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, and a group of Victoria College cadets recently planted poppies in the lower garden as part of a campaign which aims to grow three million poppy plants in Jersey.

The Plant a Poppy initiative was launched by Jersey Plants Direct, which has pledged to donate £1 to the Royal British Legion with every order of a box of poppy plants and seeds. Sir Stephen has urged Islanders to support the campaign by planting their own poppy gardens in remembrance.
