Chief Minister designate John Le Fondré beat Senator Gorst to the role of Chief Minister on Monday but immediately said he would be first pick for the External Relations post to help secure a good Brexit deal for the Island.

However, there is no room in the preferred ministerial team for Senator Kristina Moore, who finished second in the Islandwide vote, with St Clement Constable Len Norman being preferred for the Home Affairs role she has held for the past four years.

Deputy Steve Luce has also been left out despite having said he would previously like to continue as Environment Minister.

Senator Le Fondré’s picks, which will be challenged by other States Members tomorrow, are:

External Relations: Senator Ian Gorst

Treasury and Resources: Deputy Susie Pinel

Education: Senator Tracey Vallois

Health: Senator Sarah Ferguson

Social Security: Deputy Judy Martin

Infrastructure: Deputy Kevin Lewis

Economic Development: Senator Lyndon Farnham

Environment: Deputy John Young

Housing: Senator Sam Mézec

Home Affairs: Constable Len Norman
