Alexander David Cullen (29), from Liverpool, was stopped by Customs officers as he drove off the Condor Liberation on 7 September following a crossing from Poole.
The drugs were found stashed within the fuel tank of the Volkswagen van that he had been driving.
It is the most valuable haul of narcotics ever seized in the Channel Islands.
